i have a wifi driver problem?

i have a fujitsu lifebook c series that was recently reinstalled with windows xp sp1. since it was reinstalled, the wifi no longer works and the laptop i have cannot use the wifi hardware that is actually inside it. the device manager recognizes it as a network controller, but wont install it. i think it may be a driver problem.

Hi,

Before considering it to be a driver problem, please ensure that wireless is switched on the Laptop. You can do this probably with a Wireless key on the Laptop or Key combination Fn+F1 / Fn+F2 etc.

In case this does not work, it may be possible that the wireless adapter is not installed or the drivers are not functioning properly.

For this you may have to install the drivers for your Wireless Adapter either by using the CD which may have come with the Laptop or you can visit the link below and select the exact model of your Laptop to download the drivers.

Once the drivers are installed, you can then proceed to try and connect through wireless.

I would also advice you to check if the Hard Wired connection is working fine and also upgrade the OS to XP Service Pack 3 as well.

Do I need to update my bios?

I m thinking about a rebuild but I want to keep my otherboard as i cant aford to change it yet, I currently have a pentium 4 adn want to upgde to a duo core 2 it will fit on my motherbaord as its a 775 socket but what about bios i tred fujitsu site i downoad a file but jsut get ot of crap nowhere to set up for anything, thanks

I haven given the motherboard type to the site i am bying it from and they have said that my mobo has the 775 socket so should work perfectly fine!
what u mean i cant upgrade my memory? i have the max 1gb x 2 (2gb) running at the momnet

check with motherboard capability as its not a bios update to allow it to read different cpus

this is hard coded into the board itself and not adjustable vis a patch you maybe buying that mb sooner then you think

800 mhz FSB most are 1066 and will not work

BIOS Update made my system to hang ..........?
